Glory Ogbonna: Nigerian defender extends contract with Besiktas till 2024

Versatile Nigerian left back, Glory Ogbonna has signed a one year contract extension with the Turkish women club, Besiktas.
The Super Falcons’ defender will see the current deal run till 2024 with an option to renew for another season.
Ogbonna was a subject of interest from French club AS Saint-Étienne for the past one week before Besiktas manager, Suat Okyar confirmed she will be part of his plans for the new season.
The former Edo Queens’ captain expressed delight with the opportunity to remain with the Turkish giants as she promised to justify the honor with improved performance to help the club excel.
“I’m just really happy with another rare chance to remain here,” said Ogbonna told Nigeriafootball.ng.
“With the quarter final finish of last season, I want to help my team win the title this time.”
The Super Falcons defender, who joined Besiktas from ALG Spor early 2023 has had stints in Sweden and Spain.
