FC Kiryat Gat announced the signing of Nigerian defender Glory Ogbonna on a one-year deal ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Ogbonna joins the reigning Israeli champions following the expiration of her contract with Turkish giants Beşiktaş, bringing top-level experience and versatility to the squad’s defensive line.
The 25-year-old previously played in Nigeria for Edo Queens and has featured at the highest level for club and country, including appearances at the FIFA Women’s World Cup and Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
FC Kiryat Gat are set to begin their UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign this Saturday, August 2, against Turkish side Fomget, and Ogbonna is in contention to make her debut in the crucial qualifying clash.
Ogbonna’s arrival underscores FC Kiryat Gat’s ambitions both at home and on the continental stage.
She became the lastest Nigerian player to join the Israeli champions after Damilola Koku and Peace Efih.
Both had since left the team.
