Golbe Elisha: Plateau United skipper blames ill-luck for defeat at Enyimba

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
Plateau United captain, Golbe Elisha says the team is very disappointed following his side’s 2-1 defeat to Enyimba in Aba on Sunday.
Goals from Imoh Obot and top goal scorer, Emeka Obioma gave the People’s Elephants a 2-0 lead before Izuchukwu Chimezie notched the consolation for the visitors and the skippo blamed their defeat to ill-luck.
“It was a very disappointing result because we were all out to make sure we get the three points but that’s how the game of soccer is,” Elisha told Brila FM.
“At the end of the day, we lost to Enyimba. That’s how football is at times. We had a plan to make sure that we give our best and ensure that we get the best out of the game.
“We did the best that we could but the god of soccer wasn’t by our side at the end of the day. We keep pushing. It’s not over until it’s over. We are still pushing to make sure that we redeem our image.”
The loss played Jos based in the fifth position in Group A with 18 points, nine points behind leaders, Bendel Insurance, leaving the side just two wins out of their last six games.
Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side will next meet host Akwa United and they will hope to replicate their last season’s runners-up feat by qualification for the NPFL Super Six this term.
