By Saheed Afolabi

Nigeria forward Grace Obi lit up the Benin Women’s Championship League, finishing as the highest goal scorer with nine goals and two assists in 15 appearances.

Representing Naja FC, her goals propelled the club to a fourth-place finish in the 2023/2024 season.

Obi, who has previously played for Delta Queens and Naija Ratels, had an outstanding season, earning the golden boot honor. Reflecting on her achievement, she credited her success to persistent hard work, discipline, and a desire to achieve greatness.

“I’m elated to win the highest goal scorer award in the Benin Women’s Championship,” Obi told Nigeriafootball.ng exclusively.

“It came with persistent hard work, discipline, and sacrifice to achieve greatness. It was just a way of getting my career back on track, and I’m happy to finally get back into shape.”

Looking ahead, the prolific forward and winger expressed her ambition to either join a Nigerian league side or seek opportunities in Europe.

“Though I don’t know what the future holds for me next season, I would love to move abroad or play in the Nigerian league, which is very competitive and interesting,” she added.
