Halimatu Ayinde receives honorary award in Sweden

Nigeria international, Halimatu Ayinde has been honored by Nigerian Community in Malmo, Sweden.
The Super Falcons midfielder who trades her plight with FC Rosengard was presented an award on the 63rd Independence Anniversary of Nigeria.
The 28-year-old was recognized award for her patriotic and selfless service to Nigeria. She is notably a pivotal member of the Super Falcons that made history at the last FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Nigeria finished the group stage unbeaten for the first time in their history as they finished second in their group after picking draws against Canada and Ireland, and shocking Australia 3-2 in Brisbane.
Ayinde featured prominently in two of Nigeria’s four games after Deborah Abiodun was suspended because of a red card in the first game.
“I am honored to receive this meritorious award from the Nigerian community in Malmo, Sweden,” Ayinde wrote on her official X account.
“Your support and recognition mean the world to me. I will keep working hard to make you proud.”
