‘How my agent misadvised me’ – Rinsola Babajide on initial Nigeria snub

Nigeria international, Rinsola Babajide has revealed how her former agent misadvised her not to honor the national team invite.
The UDG Tenerife forward finally switched her international allegiance to Nigeria and was in action against Ethiopia in the Olympics qualifier.
The 25 year old striker said she had a different plan from the direction given to her by her ex agent as she disclosed that, she takes her decisions herself after foregoing an agent.
Babajide added, she had played for the England youth team setup starting from the U18, U19, U20, U23 and targeted playing at the 2023 World Cup but her documentation on switching eligibility to Nigeria took time.
“I would say since 2019 but like I had an agent also and he didn’t really align with my ambitions so he kind of kept me in that direction that I was staying on,” Babajide was quoted by TotoriNews.
“There was not much I could take over my career at that moment in time but now that I have no agent I’m making my own decisions for myself, my family and my career also.
“I played for England U18, U19, U20, U23 and then I had two training camps with the first team of England.
“It took a bit longer for me to change allegiances but the plan was for it to be done before the World Cup, for me to be eligible to be selected for the World Cup but it took a little longer.”
Babajide starred for Liverpool and she has taken up from where she left at the club with her stunning goal for Tenerife.
