Hull City Manager Expresses Interest in Loan Deal for Watford’s Isaac Success
Hull City’s manager, Leonid Slutsky, is eyeing a loan deal for Super Eagles striker Isaac Success from Watford before the transfer window closes. The Tigers have already secured signings in Stephen Kingsley and Jon Toral, but Slutsky is keen on bolstering the team’s attacking options with the addition of the Nigerian international.
Success, who joined Watford for a club-record £12.5m fee just over a year ago, has recently become surplus to requirements at the club. Despite limited opportunities, Hull City’s boss believes that Success could rediscover his form and make a significant contribution to the team.
Speaking about potential transfers, Slutsky emphasized the importance of acquiring high-caliber players, regardless of whether it’s through loan deals or permanent signings. He stated, “It’s not important if it’s on loan or buy. For the club, it’s important to buy players who will continue to stay here, like with Toral, but it’s very difficult with some good players whose dream is to play in his club, like (Ola) Aina and (Michael) Hector. We will see. We have options to loan and some options to buy.”
Slutsky also highlighted the significance of having players of international caliber, especially with potential challenges posed by injuries and player availability. He concluded, “We’ll see if it’s possible, but we know the players coming in will be targeting promotion with us.”
Hull City faces Bolton Wanderers at the KCOM Stadium in their upcoming fixture, with Slutsky keen to reinforce the squad for a strong push towards promotion.
