Hull City Manager Reveals Near Signing of Ahmed Musa

In a surprising revelation, Hull City manager Leonid Slutsky disclosed on Thursday that the Championship side had come close to securing the services of Leicester City and Super Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa, during the summer transfer window that closed on August 31. Slutsky, who had previously coached Musa at CSKA Moscow in Russia, confirmed the club’s interest in the Nigerian speedster but acknowledged that the player’s preference was to remain at Leicester for another opportunity.
“We came very close to Musa,” Slutsky revealed to the Hull Daily Mail. “But not each decision depends on me or the club. I think maybe he wants to prove himself at Leicester and he needs one more attempt. The final decision was at midday on deadline day, and we didn’t have a chance to change Musa for another option.”
Musa, who was part of Nigeria’s squad that secured four crucial points against Cameroon in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, seems determined to make his mark at Leicester, leaving Hull City to explore other options.
The revelation highlights the complexity of transfer negotiations in the world of football, where players’ preferences and other external factors often influence the final decisions. Hull City, nevertheless, continues to focus on strengthening its squad as they pursue their ambitions in the Championship.
