Nigeria legend Daniel Amokachi has thrown his full support behind Tammy Abraham’s move to Turkish giants Beşiktaş, expressing confidence that the striker can become a fan favorite at the club.
Abraham joined Beşiktaş from AS Roma on a season-long loan deal worth €2 million.
The agreement includes a purchase option that could see the move made permanent for €13 million, to be paid in installments between 2026 and 2030, should performance-related conditions be met.
Amokachi, who famously starred for Beşiktaş between 1996 and 2000 and remains an icon among the club’s supporters, sees the English-born Nigerian striker as someone capable of stepping into his legacy.
“Tammy, I see the potential in you to become the next big bull,” Amokachi told Süperbahis.
“As long as you keep scoring, this big Beşiktaş family will love you more and more—you can count on that.”
The former Everton striker, a 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winner and Olympic gold medalist in 1996, closed his message on a spirited note with a rallying call to fans:
“C’mon Tammy, C’mon new Black Eagles, C’mon Beşiktaş—this season is going to be something special.”
Tammy Abraham, 26, is looking to reignite his career after struggling for consistent playing time at Roma following a knee injury.
His move to Istanbul presents a fresh opportunity to rediscover his goalscoring touch and potentially win over the passionate Beşiktaş faithful.
