“I gave my best, but”- Daniel Amokachi breaks silence over Lobi Stars exit
By Dayo Awoniyi
Former Super Eagles winger, Daniel Amokachi, has opened up about his shocking resignation as head coach of Lobi Stars, citing the team’s dismal performance as the main reason for his departure.
In a candid statement, Amokachi revealed that he made the difficult decision after consulting with his family.
“I have given my best, but things are not going as they should. The club is bigger than any individual, and I believe stepping aside now gives the team a better chance to fight its way out of the red zone,” Amokachi stated.
Amokachi’s tenure at Lobi Stars was marked by inconsistency, with the team managing only three wins, seven draws, and nine losses in 19 matches under his leadership.
Despite his best efforts, the team struggled to find its footing, prompting Amokachi to step aside.
In a gracious exit statement, Amokachi expressed his gratitude to the club’s hierarchy, coaches, players, and fans for their unwavering support during his time at the helm.
“I sincerely appreciate His Excellency, the Board members, coaches, backroom staff, players, and fans for their unwavering support,” he added.
His resignation has sparked speculation about his future in coaching, but for now, Amokachi remains tight-lipped about his next move
