‘I want to play my first Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire’ – Ademola Lookman

Atalanta striker Ademola Lookman has revealed that he cannot wait to feature in his first Africa Cup of Nations  tournament for Nigeria coming up in Ivory Coast from January to February 2024.
Lookman had a blistering start to life as an Atalanta player, becoming prolific and productive almost after joining the club in the summer transfer window from RB Leipzig, netting 12 goals in 23 appearances with four assists.
The England-born star was one of the 13 early bird players that trained on Monday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja in preparation for the 2023 AFCON qualifying games against Guinea Bissau.
The 25-year-old, who has played six times in the Green and White shirt with a goal since his debut for Nigeria on 25 March 2022, in their scoreless draw with Ghana, insists the team is fit and ready to battle Guinea Bissau.
“I want to feel the AFCON. I want to win it but we have to do the battle ahead of us first by ensuring that Guinea Bissau does not prove a stumbling block,” Lookman told media.
“We are fit and will be ready for the match on Friday. I want to qualify and play my first AFCON and looking forward to it.”
The former England youth international will be eager to add to his tally against Guinea-Bissau on Friday.
