“I wouldn’t want to play against Victor Osimhen” — Nihat Kahveci

By Monsurah Olatunji

Former Besiktas striker Nihat Kahveci has admitted that he would not want to face Victor Osimhen as a defender, acknowledging the Nigerian forward’s physicality and ability to dominate on the pitch.

Osimhen, who has been in superb form for Galatasaray, played a key role in his team’s narrow 2-1 victory over Basaksehir FK on Monday.

The Super Eagles striker displayed excellent vision, creating the opening goal with a clever pass into the box, which Baris Alper Yilmaz expertly converted with a low first-time shot.

Kahveci, speaking on the Kontraspor YouTube channel, praised Osimhen’s strength and aerial prowess, noting how difficult he would be to face as a defender.

“If I were a defender, I wouldn’t want to play against Osimhen and Barış Alper,” Kahveci said, as reported by habersarikirmizi.

“It wasn’t Kerem Demirbay’s day. He did his best, but he was Galatasaray’s weak link on the field. The first yellow card given to Torreira was too harsh.”

Since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in September 2023, Osimhen has been sensational in the Turkish Super Lig.

The Nigerian forward has already scored 13 goals and provided six assists in all competitions this season, solidifying his status as one of the most dangerous strikers in the league.
