Ibrahim Aliyu’s brace inspires Locomotive Zagreb to record big win over Hadjuk Split

Former Nigeria U20 international, Ibrahim Aliyu scored twice to help his Croatia HNL side, Locomotive Zagreb defeated Hajduk Split 4-3 on Sunday.
Aliyu also claimed Man-of-the-Match prize after ranking higher than others in the match. was able notched his season’s goal to four with the brace on Sunday
Zagreb took a shock lead after 12 minutes when Vladan Bubanja turned home Cipetic’s clear pass.
Lokomotive Zagreb doubled their lead just before the half-hour mark when Aliyu’s cross was deflected to the part of Luka Stojkovic to tap home from close range.
Hajduk however split the lead to 2-1 with five minutes before the break through Jan Mlakar.
The hosts upped their game in the second half as they piled more pressure on Zagreb forcing them to make errors around goal area.
Hajduk would then get the equalizer after a foul was committed in Lokomotive’s box ehucb Marko Livaja dispatched perfectly from 12 yards.
Ibrahim Aliyu stole the show with seven minutes to see the game as the 21 year old scored twice in quick succession.
Late efforts to pull one back through Yassine Benrahou but the hosts could only gain a consolation as Lolomotiva held on to claim their first three points in three games.
