Ibrahim Olawoyin: Nigeria forward goal account for new club in Turkish League

Nigerian attacking midfielder Ibrahim Olawoyin scored his first goal for his new club, Çaykur Rizespor on Saturday in their 5-1 commanding win over Yeni Malatyaspor.
Olawoyin who made a switch from fellow Turkish Lig One side Ankara Keçiorengucu to Rizespor last month could have started his debut outing with a goal two weeks ago but his superb finish was ruled offside by Video Assistant Referee (VAR)
The former Abia Warriors’ star player however do find the back of the net for Rizespor in their six goal thriller match played at the Çaykur Didi Stadium on Saturday.
Olawoyin opened the floodgate of goals for his side as he perfectly dispatched a rebound past the opponent’s keeper in the 20th minute.
Olawoyin’s goal was followed by a smart headed goal by Congolese star Yannick Bolasie before half time.
Farouk Miya made it three for the hosts just three minutes after the restart as he get to the end of Albert Koc’s through pass.
Bolasie got his brace from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute while midfielder Alper Potuk completed scoring for Rizespor in the 75th minute with a strike from the edge of the box.
There was still time for Mert Miraç Altintas to pull one back for Malatyaspor in stoppage time.
Olawoyin, who now has five goals and seven assists this term was substituted alongside his fellow Nigerian Okechukwu Azubuike in the 75th minute of the game as Rizespor coach Bulent Korkmaz look ahead to their next game, a difficult trip to table toppers Samsunspor.
