Ibrahim Olawoyin salvages point for Ankara Keciorengucu with third league goal

Nigerian’ creative midfielder, Ibrahim Olawoyin registered his third goal of the current Turkish Lig 1 topflight on Sunday as Ankara Keçiörengücü rallied to play 1-1 at home to Samsunspor.
Ankara dominated the match as expected but fell short of the needed cutting edge to break their visitors in pulsating Week 15 encounter played at the Aktepe Stadium in Ankara.
They would soon pay for their profligacies as they were behind in the 15 minutes of the match when Gaetan Laura get to the end of Ali Kaan Guneren to score.
Ankara stepped up their game and went in search of equalizer before the break but had the likes of Bakim Balaj and Rashad to blame for the missed chances.
The second half was more of the hosts piled pressure on Samsumspor to save their faces from home defeat but still couldn’t find a way through.
It didn’t take much time before Ankara’s star man, Olawoyin came through for them as he was employed to take the spot kick after an infringement was committed in the box.
The former Enugu Rangers’ forward would them dispatched it well and brought Ankara back on level terms.
The hosts did all they could to get the winning goal even with the introduction of another Nigerian, Patrick Friday could not save them from dropping points at home.
With his latest goal, Olawoyin is now on three goals with seven assists of the season and Ankara are now on 25 points and seats fourth on the log with one game at hand.
