Nigeria forward Ifeoma Onumonu was part of the goal scorers as French women’s top-flight side, Montpellier, secured their place in the Round of 16 of the Coupe de France.

The travelers defeated Bourges 18 4-0 in the Round of 32 of the Coupe de France.

Lea Khelifi opened the scoring for Montpellier in the fourth minute of play.

Leger Christelle doubled the lead in the 39th minute ahead of the halftime break.

Two more goals came in the second half for the more experienced side.

First Onumonu made it 3-0 a minute after the hour mark.

Cameroon’s Nina Ngueleu sealed the win with the fourth goal of the encounter in the additional minutes of the second half.

Onumonu has improved her goal-scoring form with six goals in the league and an assist from 10 games.

She also became the first Nigerian player to score against the French women’s national team when the two countries met in an international friendly match last year.
