‘I’m sound and healthy’ – Wilson Oruma debunks bed ridden illness rumours

Days after rumours of his illness suffice on the internet, 1996 Olympic Gold medalist Wilson Oruma has come out to clear the air.
The former Golden Eaglets captain, went viral last weekend claiming he is battling deterioration of health and is bed-ridden.
A viral video showed a grizzled man who looked like Oruma being administered intravenous fluid on a sick bed.
This stirred mixed reactions on social media, with some fans sending prayers and well wishes while others blamed the football federation for neglecting its heroes, with his teammate, Christian Obodo angrily dismissing the remour.
However, on Tuesday his elder brother shared a fresh video shared online and Oruma confirmed the time stamp of the new video, appealing that his fans be calm as he is healthy and cute.
“I did not know people love me like this. I really appreciate the fans for their love and concern,” the former international said.
“I am sound and healthy. I’m here with my family enjoying retirement. Look at me, I’m looking cute. One love Naija.”
