Imo Striker Queens retain 2024 Judith Chime Championship

Imo Striker Queens won consecutive Judith Chime Championships after a 5-3 win on penalties over Giant Empress in the final match in Enugu on Sunday.
Regulation time ended in a 1-1 draw, taking the match into the lottery of penalties, and the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship side emerged as Champions.
The team made it to the final of the tournament, which was formerly known as the Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup (ICMC), for the third straight year.
They lost the final of the maiden edition to Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens in 2022.
A year later, the team won the title for the first time in Asaba.
Greenfoot Academy’s Anastasia Uzor won the highest goal scorer award.
Imo Striker’s Jacklin Onyintechi Opara emerged as the best goalkeeper whole Immaculate Queens won the fair play award.
This will be the first time that the competition will take place in Enugu after the first two editions were staged in Asaba, Delta state capital.
