Inter Lagos appoint Olusanjo Olutayo as interim head coach
Inter Lagos have named Olusanjo Olutayo as their interim head coach after parting company with Shakiru Giwa on Tuesday.
Giwa’s departure followed a poor start to the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, with Inter Lagos still waiting for their first victory.
The club confirmed Olutayo’s appointment in a statement, saying: “We are pleased to announce Coach Olusanjo Olutayo as our interim Head Coach. Welcome on board!”
Olutayo is expected to take charge for the first time when Inter Lagos face Nasarawa United in Sunday’s Matchday Nine fixture.
The match will be played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.
Inter Lagos are bottom of the NPFL table with two points and have yet to win a league match this season.
Olutayo’s immediate task will be to improve the team’s results and lead them to their first victory of the campaign.
