“It wasn’t going to be easy”- Yemi Olanrewaju reacts to Enyimba win over Akwa United

Enyimba FC head coach Yemi Olanrewaju has revealed that his team anticipated a tough challenge against Akwa United, which led to extra preparation that ultimately secured their 1-0 victory in Wednesday’s rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League encounter.
New signing Austin Onyemaechi came off the bench to score the decisive goal on his debut for Enyimba, helping them clinch the win at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.
Olanrewaju acknowledged that Akwa United made it difficult for his side, but the victory was crucial.
“We knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but the most important thing was getting the job done,” he said.
“Akwa United needed a positive result to boost their status and morale, but we had an edge with our extra determination and focus.”
The win moved Enyimba to third on the NPFL table after four games. They will next host Katsina United in a matchday five clash on Sunday in Aba.
