John Obi Mikel tips Carlo Ancelotti for vacant England role

Nigeria legend John Obi Mikel has endorsed Carlo Ancelotti as a strong candidate for the vacant England managerial position.
Following Gareth Southgate’s departure after a second-place finish at the 2024 Euros, Mikel believes Ancelotti’s extensive experience and success make him an ideal fit for the role.
Speaking on the Obi One Podcast, Mikel praised Ancelotti’s credentials, suggesting that he could bring the right approach to the England team, though he anticipates it might take a year or two for the impact to be fully realized.
“I will go with someone that you didn’t mention. [He’s] somebody I think will be very good with this England, but not immediately, maybe in the next 1-2 years,” Mikel said.
“That would be Carlo Ancelotti. We are in Madrid, of course, he’s paid me to say this! I think Carlo would get this team playing well.”
