John Okoli’s goal not enough as Arab Contractors lose Egyptian Cup duel to Al Ahly

Nigerian international, John Okoli, could have being the hero for his Egyptian club side, Arab Contractors on Sunday but his goal was not enough to edge past Al Ahly in the quarterfinals of the county’s cup game.
The Contractors faced a tricky duel against the most successful club in Africa and Egypt in that encounter knowing that getting a victory would mean a lot to them and their heritage..
With a renewed determination of the Okoli and his Contractors team mates, they held on for most parts of the duel.
First half of the game was a bit cagey as both sides could not muster any meaningful attack. The resumption witnessed a complete different sides that wants to do all they could to secure the last four ticket. But it was Al Ahly who had their nose in front in the 68th minutes when Karim Fouad get to the end of Mohammed Fakhri’s delivery.
With their sight on securing the semi final ticket, Arab Contractors equalized through Okoli who was a second half substitute, turning in a delightful cross from Omar Fathi making it his first goal for the club in the current campaign..
At full time, Okoli audacious strike was enough to send the game into spot kicks which Al Ahly would then win on 4-3. Following their elimination, the Contractors and Okoli would however shift focus on the league campaign.
