Joy Omewa scores consecutive brace for Fortuna Hjorring 

Nigeria striker Joy Omewa scored two goals to fire Fortuna Hjorring to a 3-1 triumph over KoldingQ in a Danish Elitedivisionen Women’ league match on Sunday.

Joy had scored a brace during her side’s previous 0-3 win at Thisted after coming from the bench and continued from where she stopped with another brace.

Former Confluence Queens forward gave Fortuna Hjorring the lead in the 34th minute before Ea Maiken Rasmussen equalised for the visitors in the 41st minute from the penalty spot.

Fortuna Hjorring also had its chance to score from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute and Sofie Lundgaard converted the resulting spot kick to restore the host’s lead.

Romanian forward, Florentina Olar-Spanu in the 61st minute set up Joy Omewa who scored Fortuna Hjorring’s third goal to extend her team’s lead.

Omewa who started the game this time saw 68 minutes of action before she was replaced by Mathilde Carstens.

She has scored four goals in seven league games for Fortuna Hjorring this season.

Fortuna Hjorring occupy the third position on the Danish Elitedivisionen Women’s table with 18 points in 12 games.
