Julius Aghahowa: Nigeria legend set to vie for Edo State Football Association post

Former Nigeria International, Julius Aghahowa has joined the race to be elected into the Edo State Football Association executive board.
Aghahowa is vying for the post of the vice chairman of Edo State Football Association (EDFA) as he has purchased and submitted the form.
Over 19 aspirants are jostling for various positions in the EDFA which the election is scheduled to take place on the third of March 2023 in Benin.
Aghahowa with his trademark backflips goal celebration is one of the clinical strikers that has ever donn the green white green colors of Nigeria as he campaigns to be an elected football administrator at Edo State level.
The 40 years old started his playing career in Edo State as he starred for Bendel Insurance before moving to Tunisian side, Esperance in 1999.
The former Super Eagles striker netted 14 goals in 32 matches for the Nigeria national team side and the most memorable one comes in the 2002 FIFA World Cup where he scored the lone goal victory against Sweden and Nigeria’s only goal at the world cup.
Aghahowa spent seven years in Ukraine from 2000 to 2007, scoring 32 goals in 89 appearances for Shakhtar Donetsk.
