KAA Gent Refuses £6m Offer from CSKA Moscow for Anderson Esiti

KAA Gent, the former Belgian champions, have firmly rejected a £6 million bid from Russian outfit CSKA Moscow for the services of Nigerian midfielder, Anderson Esiti, according to reliable sources. This development comes amidst intense speculation surrounding the talented 23-year-old’s future, as the summer transfer window inches closer to its closure.

In a similar vein, it has been disclosed that Kuban Krassnodar also attempted to secure Esiti’s services with an offer that did not meet Gent’s valuation. The Belgian club, however, remains steadfast in their decision to keep the midfielder, expressing concerns about their ability to source a suitable replacement within the remaining three days of the transfer window.

To deter further interest in their prized asset, KAA Gent has attached an £8 million price tag to Esiti, emphasizing their commitment to retaining the combative midfielder’s talents in their squad.

Esiti, a central figure in the Gent midfield, showcased his abilities in 37 appearances across various competitions last season, although he earned ten yellow cards. This impressive track record has endeared him to the club, as highlighted by a knowledgeable insider, who asserted, “The club obviously values him more than £6 million.”

The primary bone of contention, it appears, is Gent’s skepticism regarding their ability to secure a suitable replacement for the 23-year-old Nigerian international within the tight timeframe of 48 hours. Esiti has already earned two caps for the Super Eagles since his international debut, solidifying his status as an emerging talent in African football.
