Technical Adviser of Kwara United, Kabir Dogo was not satisfied with his side’s 1-1 against Bendel Insurance in their Nigeria Premier Football League clash at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin on Saturday.
Smarting from a 1-0 home loss to Shooting Stars, the Harmony Boys stormed into an early lead thanks to Mohammed Alao’s strike in the 36th minute before Deputy Echeta effort 12 minutes from time to force a stalemate.
Following the draw, former Lobi Stars tactician explained his team’s hard-fought performance, while lamenting their missed chance at grabbing the maximum points.
“I like to first congratulate my players, they really showed character and proved that what happened last weekend was a fluke,” Dogo told NigeriaFootball.ng.
“We knew it won’t be easy but we had it all planned. to frustrate them by not allowing to play their usual style and get to us in the first half.
“We could have won this match with how we approached it, but they (Insurance) are lucky with the point, I’m also happy too but could have been more happier, this will give us a boost to handle our remaining games and I believe we are not a candidate for relegation,” he said.
Kwara United will be hosting Enyimba FC in the Matchday 14 in Group A while Bendel Insurance will be guest to Remo Stars in Ikenne.
