Kabiru Dogo criticizes NPFL referees after Kwara United draw with Plateau United
By Saheed Afolabi
Head coach of Kwara United, Kabiru Dogo has criticized the Nigeria Premier Football League referees following his side’s 1-1 draw with Plateau United at the Akure Township Stadium, Akure on Sunday.
Adeshina Issa Gata’s 21st minute opener was canceled by Plateau Unitedwith a 57th minute as both sides shared the spoils, leaving the Afonja Warriors without a win in six consecutive matches.
Irked by the result the former Lobi Stars manager accused authorities and also match officials of a hidden agenda.
“So far so good, it was a very nice game for my side, but also just unfortunate that we need to ask the authorities of Nigerian football the question: ‘where are we going?’ Let us ask ourselves questions,” Dogo told media.
”Anybody that watched this game today will know that the referee had a hidden agenda. This is not the best for Nigerian football. This is the worst refereeing I have ever seen.
“If somebody is from Lagos and was saying traffic hold-up held him up for three days, then he has a hidden agenda if he is just arriving. But for me it was a good game for my side.”
The Afonja Warriors just need a win in their next game against fellow strugglers Nasarawa United to confirm their safety from relegation as they are on the eighth position with 14 points from 16 matches.
