Interim head coach of Kano Pillars, Ahmed Garba Yaro-Yaro, has praised his team’s resilience following their impressive 2-1 comeback victory over Enugu Rangers in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter on Sunday.
The Pyramid Boys fought back from a goal down after Bashir Usman gave Rangers the lead in the first half.
Goals from captain Rabiu Ali and Jerry Alex in the second half secured the win for Kano Pillars, who had to dig deep to overcome the reigning champions.
A delighted Yaro-Yaro expressed pride in his team’s performance, emphasizing how the win would serve as a morale booster for the rest of the season.
“It’s not often that a team comes from behind to win against a side like Rangers,”
“The players fought hard today. They showed commitment and played for me. I’m proud of them.”
The victory lifted Kano Pillars to 4th place in the NPFL standings with 42 points from 27 games.
