Kanu Nwankwo backs Ademola Lookman for CAF top honour

Nigeria legend, Kanu Nwankwo has tipped star forward, Ademola Lookman to win the 2023 CAF Best Player award.

Lookman was the only African player ranked in the Balon d’or and was placed 14th position in the World’s top players ranking.

Kanu believes Lookman stands a better chance of winning the Africa best player ahead of other nominees due to his records and achievement.

The former Arsenal striker said the Atalanta playmaker played a huge role in his club’s success in the Europa League.

“Lookman is a very good player, humble, works very hard and going by the records, I believe he will win,” Kanu was quoted by Brila FM.

“He was ranked well in the Ballon d’Or (14th). He has done well for both club and country.”

Victor Osimhen won the last CAF best player award in Morocco.
