The Katsina State government has dissolved the management of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Katsina United following the team’s embarrassing 6–0 defeat to Ikorodu City in a rescheduled league fixture.
The match, played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, marked one of the club’s worst performances this season, prompting swift action from state authorities.
Those affected by the sack include key figures in the club’s hierarchy such as Gaddafi Muammar Rudwan, Abbas Tukur, Abdullahi Umar Leda Danja, Yasir Yahayya, and several others.
A statement from the club on Saturday confirmed the immediate suspension of the entire management team.
They have been directed to hand over all administrative responsibilities to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Sports, who will now oversee the club alongside two officials appointed by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports.
The newly appointed supervisory team will manage the affairs of the state-owned club until further notice, as the government seeks to stabilize the team and restore confidence among its supporters.
