Nigerian winger, Kelechi Iheanacho produced another Man of the Match performance for his Leicester City side on Saturday as he was instrumental to their 4-1 win over Tottenham Hostpur in the English Premier League.
The former Manchester City winger caused more problems for the visitors who were second best through match as he scored a goal and assisted one in an impressive first half dominance.
The match played at the King Power Stadium saw Spurs started brighter and got themselves in front in the 14th minute with Rodrigo Bentancuur latching onto a loose ball after a melee in City’s box. It first appeared to be questioned but was certified by VAR.
The goal however saw Leicester coming all out once again in search for a quick response and they earned their equalizer in the 23rd with Senegalese Nampalys Mendy scoring from a rebound.
The Foxes took lead for the first time when Iheanacho provided his third assist of the season, finding James Madison who wasted no time to slot past outrushing Fraser Foster.
The Super Eagles forward shone yet again to get Leicester’s third of the match and his second Premier League goal of the season. He took a perfect curling effort from outside the box which Foster had no answer for.
The Foxes, who have being on the ascendancy since the World Cup break controlled the second half like they did in the first forcing Spurs to series of errors in danger areas.
Leicester got another goal from Harvey Barnes in the 70th minutes with Iheanacho as the mastermind but was chalked off after review by VAR.
Barnes would not be denied again in the 82nd minutes for his seventh goal of the season. The 25 year old England winger scored a brilliant goal from Madison’s through pass.
The result, however pushed Leicester City to 13th on the log with 24 points, six above the relegation zone and Tottenham will remain fifth.
