Nigerian striker, Kelechi Iheanacho has expresses disappointment following Leicester City’s relegation from the Premier League on the final day.
Leicester defeated West Ham United 2-1 on Sunday with the Super Eagles’ winger contributing one of the goals.
The victory at King’s Power Stadium could not see the Foxes remain in the English top flight as Everton managed to beat Bournemouth to beat the drop.
The 24-old-year-old said the development was a painful one even as he thanked the fans for their tremendous support through the season.
”I’m so disappointed, I have no words. I don’t know what to say,” Iheanacho told media.
“I just say thanks to everyone at the Football Club, the fans, and everyone that supported us right from the start to now.
“If life kicks you, you need to stand up and keep going. We’ll try to keep going, stay strong, and hopefully, we’ll get back up.
“It is a bad time for the club and everyone, we can’t go back and now be thinking about it, we have to move forward.
“The fans were amazing, even at the end they were clapping and supporting us. It’s a hard one going down, so I just want to thank them for their support and everything they’ve done.
“They supported the club right from the start and we will try our best to come back up.”
