Kennedy Boboye, the Technical Adviser of Sunshine Stars, has confirmed his team’s readiness for their highly anticipated Matchday Two clash against Remo Stars.
The encounter, set for Saturday at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, is not only a significant fixture in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) but also a celebrated South West Derby, known as the ‘Oduduwa Derby.’
Boboye, who has overseen a strong start to the season with Sunshine Stars following a decisive 3-0 victory over Bayelsa United, is well-acquainted with both the team and the environment at Remo Stars, having previously managed the club five seasons ago.
His familiarity with the opponents and the local football scene is expected to play a crucial role in his side’s approach to the game.
“We are in Ogun State to pick up maximum points against Remo Stars,” Boboye stated confidently. “I have full confidence in my players; they are highly coachable and have been responding positively to our training sessions. My hope is that every instruction given during training translates into a successful performance on Saturday.”
Both Sunshine Stars and Remo Stars started the 2024/25 NPFL season on a high note, each securing a win in their opening matches. This sets the stage for a competitive and thrilling encounter as the two teams vie for supremacy in the South West Derby.
Boboye’s strategic focus and the team’s positive momentum suggest they are prepared to make a significant impact in this key fixture. The outcome of this match will be crucial for both sides as they look to build on their early successes and establish their positions in the league standings.
