Kun Khalifat boss ambitious about continental slot after shock win at Bayelsa United

By Wale Mustapha

Kun Khalifat Football Club chairman Michelle Amaefula has declared his club’s ambition to represent Nigeria in continental competitions following their first-ever away victory in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The historic 2-1 win came on Sunday at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa against Bayelsa United in a crucial Matchday Nine fixture.

Goals from Uche Moses and Olubode Hassan secured the victory for Kun Khalifat, while Jawad Mustapha scored a consolation goal for Bayelsa United.

Amaefula praised both the players and technical staff for their performance, emphasizing the club’s upward trajectory.

“I told you that we are coming to the NPFL to make a big impact, and now we are here,” Amaefula said after the game.

“Sooner or later, you will see us in a CAF competition, and we will play at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

“I’m not surprised by the result because I know how good the team is. I’m proud of them, and I believe they can do more of this.”

Kun Khalifat are unbeaten in their last two league matches and will look to build on their momentum when they host Insurance FC at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in their next outing.
