By Saheed Afolabi

New fitness coach of Nigeria women’s football national team, Kyle Quigley has revealed the plans he has for the team going into the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Quigley was appointed as a member of the coaching crew by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to administer the fitness level of players at the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
The American is relishing meeting the Nigeria players for the first time in camp and will observe their trainings to assess their fitness level amidst his excitement over his first World Cup duty.
“That is something I have to find out for myself, I have never met the group before,” Quigley told NFF TV.
“So integration, see where they are, today I’m observing and from the weekend I’ll have my sessions with the team and I’ll assess them from there.
“Of course I am excited, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity, the World Cup it doesn’t get any bigger in Women’s football. I’m very excited, I’ve been told lots of stories how good they are, how good the group is.”
The Super Falcons are based in Brisbane, Australia where they will have a training camp for two weeks before heading to the World Cup proper.
Nigeria will trade tackles with Canada in the first group game on July 21, lock horns with World Cup co-host Australia on the 27th and round of their group stage against Republic of Ireland on the 31st of July.
