Ladan Bosso shifts focus on U20 Afcon title after bagging World Cup ticket

Head coach of the Nigeria U20 side Ladan Bosso has revealed that his team have now shifted focus on bringing the trophy home after they achieving their first target at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
On Thursday, the Flying Eagles qualified for Indonesia 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup after defeating the Hippos of Uganda 1-0 through first half own goal by Uganda Juma to reach the semifinal of the youth tournament in Egypt.
Reflecting on the victory, excited gaffer maintained that his boys are capable of winning for Nigeria for the record eighth time, as he urged Nigerians to continue to pray and support them.
“We are being sponsored by the federal government of Nigeria, through the football federation and we believe that in as much as it is, so much has been spent on us to prepare us for camping and the training,” Bosso told media.
“I think it has now become the right of Nigerians to expect the best from us. The boys have maintained that they are out for business, now that we have picked the World Cup ticket.
“The next thing is to ensure that we qualify for the final and hopefully we can go back home to Nigeria with the trophy. Te most important thing for us is to seek the cooperation of Nigerians, their commitments to follow up with their prayers and support. I think this is a team that can go places.”
The seven-time champions will now await the winner between Gambia and South Sudan on Friday. All four semifinalists will represent Aftica at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup to be held from 7th to 20th May in Indonesia.
