Las Palmas Suffers Late Blow, Etebo Vows to Fight On

Nigerian midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo expressed a mix of disappointment and determination after Las Palmas’ heart-wrenching 2-1 defeat to Levante in a crucial LaLiga clash at the Estadi Ciutat de Valencia Stadium.

Despite the crushing loss, Etebo, currently on loan from CD Feriense of Portugal, affirmed his unwavering commitment to the team’s survival with seven games remaining in the season. The defeat came as Levante’s Jose Campana struck a stoppage-time winner, further complicating Las Palmas’ LaLiga survival bid.

The match saw Levante’s Jorge Moeno opening the scoreline in the 35th minute, only for Las Palmas’ David Garcia to level the playing field with a header just five minutes into the second half.

Reflecting on the defeat, Etebo took to Instagram, expressing his dismay over the team’s last-minute loss. “Terrible way to lose in the last minute of this important game. We have not given up hope, I promise. UD Las Palmas,” he wrote in his post.

The setback has pushed Las Palmas to the 19th spot in the table, garnering 21 points from 31 games, leaving them trailing Levante by 10 points in the 17th position.

With Real Sociedad awaiting them in their next encounter on Sunday, Las Palmas finds themselves in a precarious position. Despite the setback, Etebo’s resolute pledge indicates a fighting spirit within the team as they strive to overcome the challenges in their battle to remain in LaLiga.
