LASK boss Dietmar Kuhbauer faces attacking selection dilemma after Moses Usor return
LASK head coach Dietmar Kuhbauer says the return of Nigeria forward Moses Usor has created a “luxury problem” as he weighs up his attacking options.
Usor returned to the starting line-up on Sunday after recovering from a shoulder injury, although LASK were beaten 3-1 by Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga.
The 24-year-old’s comeback gives Kuhbauer greater flexibility during a demanding period, with LASK facing a series of important fixtures in the coming weeks.
Usor is competing for a place in the attack with Sasa Kalajdzic, Christoph Lang and Samuel Adeniran. Kuhbauer has four forwards available for two attacking positions, increasing competition for places as LASK attempt to improve their results.
“My strikers would be starters at many clubs. That’s the luxury problem I have,” Kuhbauer said, as quoted by Laola1.
Usor has scored two goals and supplied three assists in the Austrian Bundesliga this season, making a significant contribution to LASK’s attacking play before his injury.
His return comes at a crucial stage for LASK, who will play an Austrian Cup derby against SV Ried before meeting WSG Tirol in the league.
They will also face Slovan Bratislava in a Champions League fixture as part of their busy schedule.
Despite the loss to Red Bull Salzburg, Usor’s availability gives Kuhbauer another attacking option as he seeks to guide LASK back to winning form. The Nigerian will hope to build on his return and establish himself more firmly in the team during the matches ahead.
