Liberia President George Weah hails Victor Osimhen qualities after Sierra Leone brace

The Liberia President, George Weah has been blown away with the qualities that Victor Osimhen possesses following the Napoli star’s performance for Nigeria against Sierra Leone in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Having scored a brace in Nigeria 3-2 triumph in Monrovia, the former world and African Player of the Year,  classified him as a player that possesses all the qualities of a striker.

“That is what I call a striker. Good positioning always. Very athletic and knows where to be each time the ball is coming. He is so strong and a fighter par excellence,” Weah told media.

The Liberia President had sent a personal congratulatory message to Osimhen following a fascinating season in the Italian Serie A where he netted 25 goals to win the Golden Boot and the Scudetto title.

The Nigeria goal poacher tops the goal scorers chart for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers with seven goals in five matches.

After notching in 17 goals in 25 appearances, Osimhen is on course to break the 35 goal record of the Nigeria national team set by late Rashidi Yekini.
