In-form Nigerian goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, has become a subject of interest for Italian Serie A champions, Inter Milan.
The Super Eagles’ shot-stopper, who played a pivotal role in Udinese’s successful battle against relegation with his heroic goalkeeping, is being considered as the ideal backup for Inter’s first-choice goalkeeper, Yann Sommer.
Transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio revealed that Okoye is among the three shortlisted goalkeepers to potentially join the Nerazzuris this summer. The other goalkeepers under consideration are Athletico Paranaense’s Bento and Genoa’s Spain national teamer Josep Martínez.
During the second half of the season, Okoye showcased his talent by keeping five clean sheets in 21 appearances, marking an impressive debut season in Serie A. His stellar performances caught the attention of the Nigerian Super Eagles’ coaching staff, leading to his inclusion in the national team squad for the World Cup qualifiers.
Currently under contract with Udinese until the end of the 2026-2027 season, Okoye’s potential move to Inter Milan would mark a significant milestone in his career, providing him with an opportunity to further establish himself at the top level of European football.
