Malaga’s Struggles Deepen as Success Departs Early in 1-0 Defeat to Sevilla

Malaga’s turbulent season took another challenging turn on Wednesday as Nigerian striker Isaac Success made an early exit during the 1-0 defeat to Sevilla at the Estadio La Rosaleda. Success, who earned his first start for the LaLiga relegation candidates, was substituted after a mere 34 minutes, with Joaquin Correa securing the lone goal of the match for Sevilla in the 15th minute.
In his second appearance for Malaga since joining on a six-month loan deal from Watford, Success left the pitch prematurely, heading straight down the tunnel after being replaced by Youssef En-Nesyri. The abrupt departure was attributed to a knock the Nigerian forward seemingly picked up during the game.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye, in his fifth start for Malaga since his arrival in January, endured a challenging 76 minutes on the pitch before being replaced by Alberto Bueno. Ideye, who secured one goal for Malaga following his loan move from Tianjin TEDA, struggled to make a significant impact in the midweek encounter.
With the defeat against Sevilla, Malaga continues to languish at the bottom of the LaLiga table with 13 points from 26 games, intensifying their battle against relegation. Their next challenge awaits on Saturday as they face Leganes in a critical fixture that could prove pivotal in their bid for survival.
