Maurizio Sarri backs Victor Osimhen’s Napoli to win the Italian Scudetto

Former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri has giving his backing to Victor Osimhen’s Napoli to win the Italian Serie A Scudetto this season.

Lazio to a surprise 1-0 victory over Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, where the Nigerian star was in action in the game but could not add to his 19 goals tally of the season.

Despite Napoli suffered its second defeat of the season, the former Chelsea manager hails the club’s management and technical crew for the incredible form as he backs the leaders celebrate the Serie A diadem this season.

“The difference between the teams is that this Napoli is going to win and for that I envy them like crazy,” Sarri told Football Italia.

“Spalletti has been phenomenal, along with the club and director of sport, he had the courage to do things that had never been done before.”

Sarri almost won the Scudetto for Napoli in the 2017/2018 season but lost the league title to Juventus along the line that saw the team play attractive football which the name Sarriball emanated from.

The Partenopei will host Atalanta at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on the 11th of March 2023.

The Naples command the Serie A table with 65 points in 25 matches as the second place team, Inter Milan trails them with 17 points.
