Milan eye Victor Boniface to strengthen attack

By Monsurah Olatunji
Milan are keen on signing Nigeria international, Victor Boniface for a fee within the region of €10-€15m.
This pursuit comes as a backup option in case negotiations for their primary target, Marcus Thuram, become complicated as the Rossoneri are determined to strengthen their attacking options.
The former Nigeria U20 international had a decent first season with Belgian league side Union Saint-Gilloise in their last season and has been linked to joining compatriot Victor Osimhen if he remains at Napoli beyond this summer.
The 22-year-old emerged joint top scorer in the Europa League alongside Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford with six goals, reaching the last eight.
Boniface joined Union Saint-Gilloise from Norwegian side Bodo Glimt last summer in a club record deal of €2m and has not failed to disappoint.
Given Boniface’s rising stock and remarkable talent, several clubs in Italy, England, and Germany have expressed interest in signing him.
Serie A side Lazio and Champions League-bound Bundesliga team RB Leipzig, are all contenders for his services.
However, according to Italian news media outlet Sempermilan, Milan remains ambitious in their pursuit of talented forwards and is keeping a close eye on Victor Boniface as a potential option.
“With the negotiation that could be complex for the French forward, Milan could direct their attention towards another striker.
“The name would be that of Victor Boniface, tip of the Union Saint-Gilloise much appreciated by Geoffrey Moncada. The valuation would not be very high and could be within the reach of Milan’s transfer market budget. We are talking about €10m to €15m.”
