Mobolaji Johnson Arena to host 2025 President Federation Cup finals

By Oluwadamilola Olaleye

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos will host the 2025 President Federation Cup finals for both the men’s and women’s categories on June 28.

This year’s grand finale promises high drama, with surprise package Abakaliki FC of Ebonyi set to face NPFL side Kwara United in the men’s final.

In the women’s final, defending champions Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt will take on Nasarawa Amazons of Lafia in a rematch of their recent NWFL Super Six encounter.

The iconic Lagos stadium also hosted the 2024 edition of the tournament, where El-Kanemi Warriors triumphed over Abia Warriors to clinch the men’s title and secure a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup.

On the women’s side, Rivers Angels edged Naija Ratels 1–0 to retain their crown.

Notably, this marks Abakaliki FC’s first-ever appearance in a Federation Cup final, adding to the excitement surrounding the match.

Meanwhile, Shooting Stars SC, previously rumored to be finalists, are not listed in this year’s final matchup.

The President Federation Cup remains Nigeria’s oldest and most prestigious domestic cup competition, and the NFF is expected to deliver a grand spectacle for fans at the historic Lagos venue.
