Mohammed Magin blames Niger Tornadoes loss to Enyimba on missed chances

By Wale Mustapha

Coach Mohammed Magin of Niger Tornadoes has attributed his side’s disappointing 1-0 loss to Enyimba FC to missed opportunities in front of goal.

The Ikon Allah Boys were stunned at home in their Matchday 27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday, as Enyimba capitalized on one of their few chances to claim the win.

Magin expressed frustration with his team’s inability to convert chances, despite controlling much of the game.

“This is not a match we should be talking about defeat or draw for us; you could see how we played and controlled it,” Magin said in a post-match interview.

“We had our chances in the first half, but we failed to take any. Enyimba had theirs, and they scored.”

The defeat sees Niger Tornadoes drop to 10th place in the NPFL standings with 37 points.

They will look to bounce back in their next fixture against Rivers United in Port Harcourt.
