Morocco reach first-ever FIFA U-20 World Cup final

Morocco’s U20 national team have written their name in the history books after securing a place in the FIFA U20 World Cup final for the first time ever, following a dramatic 5–4 penalty shootout victory over France.

The thrilling encounter, played under high tension, ended 1–1 after 120 minutes of pulsating football.

Yassir Zabiri opened the scoring for the Atlas Lions in the 32nd minute from the penalty spot, after a VAR review confirmed a foul inside the box.

France responded in the 59th minute through Lucas Michel, who capitalised on a defensive lapse to level the score.

Both teams created several opportunities but failed to find a breakthrough during regulation and extra time, sending the match into a nerve-wracking penalty shootout.

In the end, Morocco held their composure from the spot, converting all five penalties, with Zabiri once again stepping up to slot home the winning kick and seal a famous victory for the North Africans.

Morocco will now face Argentina in what promises to be a historic and captivating final
