Moses Simon scores in Nantes’ friendly defeat to Lorient

Nigeria winger, Moses Simon continued with his impressive form for Nantes as he registered another goal in their 2-1 friendly encounter against fellow Ligue 1 side, FC Lorient.

The tune up match was parts of the clubs’ preparation ahead of the French Ligue One that is set to resume next month and Julien Ponceau opened the scoring in the opening third minute to give Lorient the lead as he finished off a brilliant cross from another Nigerian forward, Terem Moffi.

Simon scored an equaliser with a well-taken goal in the 17th minute reaching to the end of Moussa Sissoko’s assist.

Both sides had more chances in remaining moments of the match but could not make them count until two minutes from time when the home side got the winner through 20 year old Adil Aouchiche.

The Super Eagles forward has become a mainstay in Nantes’ set up since he joined the French Ligue One side permanently in 2021 from Levante.
