Nantes boss praises Moses Simon influence

By Saheed Afolabi

Nantes manager Antoine Kombouaré has praised Nigeria international Moses Simon for his significant impact on the team’s performance this season.

Simon scored a stunning goal in the 18th minute of Nantes’ 2-0 victory over Auxerre, marking the club’s first win of the season.

Kombouaré hailed Simon’s unmatched strength, energy, and vocal leadership on the pitch. Despite these contributions, he has challenged Simon to match his previous performances.

“He brings strength and energy to his teammates and is very vocal,” Kombouaré told Tribune Nantaise.

“Even though he’s small, he has a lot of character and doesn’t let people walk over him. We need him to prove himself again this season. What he did before was commendable, but we need to start afresh.”

Nantes, currently with four points from two games, will next face Montpellier on Saturday, August 31.
