Cristian Stellini, Napoli’s assistant coach, has revealed the team’s search criteria for a new striker.
According to Stellini, Napoli is looking for a player with similar characteristics to their departing Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen is expected to leave Napoli this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly interested in signing him.
The Super Eagles’ forward has already agreed to personal terms with PSG, who are willing to offer him a €14 million annual salary.
Negotiations between PSG and Napoli are said to be advancing, paving the way for Osimhen’s potential departure.
Stellini emphasized that Napoli needs a striker with a strong physical presence, similar to Osimhen’s.
He stated, “To replace Osimhen, I would opt for an attacker with a robust physical build, similar to Victor’s.
“Someone who possesses multiple skills, including goal-scoring ability, creativity, and the capacity to support and enhance the team’s attack,” Stellini was quoted by Calcio Mercato.
