Napoli legend reveals why Victor Osimhen joined Galatasaray

Former Napoli captain, Marek Hamsik, believes that the loan transfer of Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen to Galatasaray is not entirely football-related.

Hamsik, who was one of the cult heroes of the club was pained the Super Eagles’ forward left the Partenopei in that circumstances. 

Osimhen joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan after he failed to secure a move to either Chelsea and Al Ahli on transfer deadline day.

The loan deal is without an option to buy, but Osimhen is still expected to leave Napoli permanently, after they froze him out of the squad.

The former Serie A champions have also brought in Romelu Lukaku as his replacement.

“I’m sorry Osimhen left, but it’s probably not entirely related to football.

“I am not involved in this, and Napoli signed a valuable replacement. Lukaku is a top striker and can easily score 20 goals,” Hamsik said as quoted by O Globo.
